ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s education ministry has pushed back the 2021 GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) examination to February 2022 a week after it announced that two other prominent school level exams would be postponed.
Education Minister Prof G L Peiris told reporters Monday (26) that the 2021 O/Ls that were supposed to be held in January 2022 will now be held the following month due to the COVID-19 situation in the country.
The exam will take place from February 21 to March 03, he said.
O/L is a mandatory exam held to certify that students have completed their senior secondary school (grades 10 and 11). It is generally held in December.
Sri Lanka has postponed two other prominent exams in the country – A/Ls and grade 05 scholarship exams to November 2021. (Colombo/Jul26/2021)
