Sri Lanka President, Ajit Doval discuss security, infrastructure

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Indian security advisor Ajit Doval has had talks over security and infrastructure development, a statement said.
“Indo-Lanka security cooperation, maintaining peace and security in the Indian Ocean region, infrastructure development in Sri Lanka were among the major topics discussed,” the President’s media office said in a statement.
“Both sides agreed that the infrastructure development projects initiated with the assistance of India should be completed expeditiously.”
India and Sri Lanka has already signed a deal to run a container terminal in Colombo, where China already has a concession.
India was also expected to in a power project.
Doval had expressed India’s willingness to identify and invest in new fields that can contribute to the economic growth in Sri Lanka, the statement said.
