Sri Lanka restricts parcels on buses, trains after suicide bombings
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s public transport authorities said they will impose restrictions on carrying parcels on board buses and trains as a safety measures following Easter Sunday’s suicide bombings which killed 290 people.
The transport ministry said in a statement the state bus service had returned to normal after a night curfew imposed Sunday was lifted at dawn Monday.
The state railway service was expected to return to normal by Monday evening, it said.
It called for public co-operation to help the authorities impose the new security measures.
