ECONOMYNEXT – A revised draft bill to reform Sri Lanka’s power sector will be submitted to the cabinet for consideration on November 20, Energy minister Kanchana Wijesekara said.
“The proposed new electricity bill is listed on the agenda for the approval of the cabinet ministers for next Monday,” Wijesekara said in a twitter.com, after a meeting with officials in a reform committee.
The reform framework, renewable energy integration and fast-tracking investment into the sector was discussed at the meeting, he said.
Sri Lanka is trying to unbundle the CEB and bring private investment. (Colombo/Nov17/2023)
