Sri Lanka, rupee, bonds opens wider on last market day
ECONOMYNET – Sri Lanka’s rupee was quoted wide at 182.90/30 to the US dollar in the spot market after dropping on Friday, while bonds were around the same levels Friday in mid-morning as the year drew to a close, dealers said.
The rupee closed at 182.85/20 to the US dollar Friday after dropping from 182.35/50 to the US dollar Thursday.
In money markets overnight money was quoted 8.95/9.00 percent dealers said.
Bond markets were quiet with slightly wider quotes, dealers said.
A bond maturing on 15.12.2021, was quoted at 11.48/55 percent Monday, about the same from Friday’s close of 11.50/55 percent, dealers said.
A bond maturing on 01.08.2026 bond was quoted around at 11.70/11.95 percent slightly wider from from Friday’s 11.75/85 percent. (Colombo/Dec31/2018)
