Sri Lanka rupee closes weaker, bond yields eased
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka rupee was closed at 182.90/183.00 against the US dollar on Thursday in the spot market while bond yields eased, dealers said.
The rupee closed at 182.90/183.05 against the greenback on Wednesday.
In the secondary markets, bond yields eased in moderate trade, dealers said.
The most active maturity was 15.12.2022.
A 2-year bond maturing on 15.12.2022 was quoted at 5.68/73 percent on Wednesday, flat from 5.68/73 percent at Wednesday’s end.
A bond maturing on 15.01.2023 was quoted at 5.70/75 percent, flat from 5.70/75 percent at Wednesday’s close.
A bond maturing on 15.09.2024 was quoted at 6.15/20 percent on Thursday, steady from Wednesday’s closing at 6.16/20 percent.
A bond maturing on 01.05.2025 was quoted at 6.35/40 percent on Thursday, falling from 6.38/43 percent at the previous day’s closing.
A bond maturing on 01.02.2026 was quoted at 6.50/55 percent, flat from 6.50/55 percent at the previous close.
A bond maturing on 15.08.2027 was quoted at 6.97/7.03 percent steady from 6.95/7.05 percent at Wednesday’s closing.
A 10-year bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted at 7.25/35 percent, flat from 7.25/35 percent at the previous day’s closing. (Colombo/Aug13/2020)
