Sri Lanka small business tax issues to be rectified in budget
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mangala Samaraweera has assured representatives of small businesses that their tax issues would be resolved in the forthcoming budget later this year.
The assurance was given when he met the representatives of the Chamber of Provincial Entrepreneurs at the Ministry of Finance Wednesday.
Samaraweera said that the Treasury intends to rectify issues faced by small business owners with regard to the calculation and payment of taxes through the next budget, a statement said.
The small business representatives briefed Samaraweera on issues faced by them, especially with regard to the calculation of taxes.
They also stressed on issues regarding the payment of Value Added Tax and other taxes by small time business entreprenuers.
