Sri Lanka to allow citizens stranded over Coronavirus at 11 airports to return
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka will allow over two dozen citizens stranded at several airports around the world over restrictions imposed to halt the spread of Coronavirus to return to Sri Lanka, Minister Ramesh Pathirana said.
Sri Lanka has banned arriving passengers at all airports until further notice.
But the cabinet ministers had approved a proposal by Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunewardene to allow 30 students and government officials stuck at 11 airports to return to Sri Lanka, he
There were 05 persons in Oman, 3 in Dubai, 7 in Singapore, 01 in Ethiopia, 02 in Turkey, 01 in Maldives, 02 in London, 01 in Seychelles, 01 in Papua New Guinea, 01 in Lisbon and 05 in Cairo he said.
SriLankan Airlines also halted passenger flights this week.
