Sri Lanka to slam half a million fine on overstaying tourists; hike visa fees: Budget 2017

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka will slam a million rupee (3,400 rupees) fine on overstaying tourists, and visa fees will also be hiked, a budget for 2017 said.
In addition to pre-approved electronic visa, Sri Lanka will also issue visa on arrival for one month.
Visa fees will be raised the budget said, without specifying the new rates.
Spouse visas will be issued for five years, the budget said.
Foreign students will also be given multiple entry 5-year visas.
