Sri Lanka trade ministers seal 30 motor spares shops
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka consumer authority has sealed 30 motor spare parts shops for not price marking product and Trade Minister Rishard Bathiudeen said further raids will be carried out.
Some shops were also claiming Chinese made parts to be made in Germany and Japan, a Trade Ministry statement said.
After checking the country of origin, the shop keepers will be charged in courts, the statement said.
The Consumer Affairs Authority also polices Sri Lanka’s price controls, some of which were expanded from the ousted Rajapaksa regime.
