Sri Lanka treating a new patient as Coronavirus infection: official
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka is treating a new patient as a Coronavirus infected person a health official said, though final confirmation is still awaited.
“We are managing the patient as a Coronavirus patient,” the official said.
Sri Lanka’s only confirmed case so far has been a Chinese national who was treated and released.
The new patient is reported to be a person who has guided an Italian tour group.
As of March 10, Sri Lanka had 18 patients treated as designated hospitals admitted as suspected cases including three foreigners.
Sri Lanka has tightened Coronavirus controls quarantining visitors from Italy, Korea and Iran.
Over 3,600 visitors from high risk are also being tracked daily by health officials around the country.
Several European countries including UK and France have seen infections. (Colombo/Mar10/2020)
