Sri Lanka VVIP guard dies during endurance test
ECONOMYNEXT – A bodyguard of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa died on Tuesday during a physical endurance test, police said.
Police headquarters said 45-year-old Sergeant Sumith Seneviratne was rushed to hospital after he collapsed during the test. He died later in hospital.
Police said Seneviratne, a father of two children, had been cleared fit to undergo the physical endurance test and it was not immediately clear why he collapsed halfway through. An autopsy is due later Tuesday. (COLOMBO, March 21, 2017)
