Sri Lanka’s Elephant House doubles ice cream output with new plant

ECONOMYNEXT – Ceylon Cold Stores, a unit of Sri Lankan conglomerate John Keells Holdings, said it has commissioned a new ice cream manufacturing plant, doubling its Elephant House brand production volume.

The company broke ground on the new plant, at the Seethawaka Board of Investment zone, at Avissawella, 15 months ago. 

It will be operated by The Colombo Ice Company Pvt Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of Ceylon Cold Stores, and help Elephant House enhance its portfolio of products, a statement said.
