Sri Lankan cyber-athletes to battle it out
ECONOMYNEXT – Cyber games and comic book entertainment will feature the Sri Lanka Cyber Games Central Qualifier and Kandy Comic Con to be held in the City Center of the hill country capital of Kandy on the 5th and 6th November.
The multi-genre entertainment festival, entrance to which is free, will see the best cyber-athletes battling it out for the chance to represent the region at the SLCG ’16 Grand Finals in Colombo, a statement said.
The eSports Championship will feature Call of Duty 4, DOTA 2, Counter-Strike: GO, League of Legends, Mortal Kombat XL, Project Cars, FIFA 16, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Clash Royale.
Kandy Comic Con will consist of a number of panel discussions by local film and art directors.
The director and cast members of the upcoming Sri Lankan movie ‘Aloka Udapadi’ will feature in the first panel of the event, followed by the artists behind ‘The Tale of Chaste’ animated series, PRUVE.
Another attraction at the event will be Cosplay – fans dressing up as and role-playing their favourite characters from movies, video games, tv shows and comic books.
Visitors to the event will be able to take part in various fun activities such as StarBattles – a themed laser-tag competition, and buy comic merchandise from the vendors showcasing their goods at the event.
