Sri Lanka’s Cape Weligama in top 10 resorts in Asia by CondÃ© Nast
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Cape Weligama hotel has been named one of the top 10 resorts in Asia by readers of Condé Nast Traveller, a travel publication, with another hotel in the group, Wild Coast Tented Lodge making it to the top 20.
Anantara Peace Haven, Tangalle was ranked at 16, making it in to the top 20. It is a joint venture between Thailand’s Minor Hotels and Sri Lanka’s Hemas group.
Cape Weligama ranked ranked the 8th best resort in Asia and Wild Coast Lodge ranked 19th are run by Resplendent Ceylon, a firm affiliated to Sri Lanka’s Dilmah group. It also runs another luxury property, Ceylon Tea Trails.
The Condé Nast readers picked Sri Lanka as the 19th best country to travel to in the world in 2018. The hotels are new, indicating the dynamism of the industry, which has seen new investments come in.
