Sri Lanka’s Cargills in deal with Bank of China

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Cargills (Ceylon) PLC said the Cargills group has entered into an agreement with Bank of China to promote co-operation between Cargills group and Bank of China’s Colombo branch.
The agreement aims “to promote co-operation and strengthen business ties between the two entities,” the firm, part of CT Holdings Group, said in a stock exchange filing.
Bank of China is the world’s fourth largest bank and oldest bank in mainland China, the statement said.
The entry of Bank of China – Colombo branch is expected to enhance trade and investment between China and Sri Lanka, it said.
