Sri Lanka’s Ceylex Engineering wins Rs2.7bn transmission line deal

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Ceylex Engineering, a privately owned power engineering firm has won a 2,708 million rupee deal to build transmission lines for state-run Ceylon Electricity Board.
The proposal to award the contract submitted by Power Minister Ravi Karunanayake had been approved by the cabinet of ministers, the state information office said.
The contract is part of an Asian Development Bank funded project to improve the efficiency of Sri Lanka’s power grid.
The overall project is funded by 150 million US dollars and 30 million Euros. (Colombo/Apr19/2019-SB)
