Sri Lanka’s Ceylex wins water supply construction deal

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Ceylex Engineering (Pvt) Ltd, and India’s Prathiba Industries had won a deal to build a water supply project in the former war-torn town of Mullativu in Northern Sri Lanka.
The cabinet of minister had approved the award to the joint ventre for 894.7 million rupees, the government said.
Ceylex is a fast growing engineering firm, which has origins in the power sector.
The project will benefit more than 1,500 families in and around the Mullaitivu urban area.
A 30-year war in the area ended in 2009 with the defeat of Tamil Tiger separatists who controlled the town. (Colombo/Mar31/201)
