ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Ceylon Tea Trails, an up market hotel in a tea plantation in Hatton has won a global award by TripAdvisor.com, a travel review site, for being among the best hotels in the world for service.
Tea Trails was named 21, out of 25 of the World Best Hotels for Service, in the Trip Advisor Traveller’s Choice Awards for 2018.
Global awards are given for categories such as Top 25 Hotels, Top 25 Luxury Hotels, Top 25 Best Service Hotels, Top 25 Bargain Hotels and Top 25 family hotels.
In Best 25 small hotels, Buckingham Pallace, in Rekawa was listed in 23rd place.
Cambodia, Costa Rica, India, Vietnam and Maldives had two hotels each in the World’s Best Hotels.
Within Sri Lank, Cape Weligama, Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle, Jetwing Vil Uyana, Jungle Beach by Uga Escapes, Uga Bay, Jetwing Yala, The Fortress, Amangalla, Heritance Tea Factory, Heritance Kandalama, were among the top 10.
Sri Lanka’s hotels started to be featured widely on global booking engines and online review sites after a 30-year war ended in 2009. (Colommbo/Jan26/2018 – Update)
