Sri Lanka’s Colombo used as turnaround port by Hapag-Lloyd cruise line
ECONOMYNEXT – Germany’s Hapag-Lloyd Kreuzfahrten has started to use Colombo as a turnaround port in its Indian Ocean Island hopping cruise, calling on all four of Sri Lanka’s major ports.
MS Europa 2, called at all four major ports in Sri Lanka, Galle, Colombo, Hambantota and Trincomallee, agents Hapag-Lloyd Lanka, a unit of Sri Lanka’s Aitken Spence group said.
About 350 passengers had disembarked in Colombo and a similar number and joined the ship in Colombo after flying in from Germany.
In the past Dubai and Singapore a key turnaround ports for cruise lines in this region.
Aitken Spence said the ship will also call in Colombo for a full turnaround of passengers in 2017 and 2018. (Colombo/Jan30/2016)
