ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka-based Green Tape, an online procurement platform says it has signed up 30 large buyer companies and 3000 suppliers who are now bidding for tenders online, a statement said.
Affno Virtual Market (Pvt) Limited (AVM) is the software development company of Green Tape.
Green Tape started in November 2020.
It says it has procured more than 700 tenders worth 500 million rupees.
The Platform streamlines tender creation, review and approval, to reach the best suppliers, while managing clarifications and submissions, and identifying the best bid, Green Tape said in a statement.
“They (buyers) need to get multiple approvals and control costs. With such tedious requirements, they now find business easier and smoother with Green Tape,” Suren Kannangara AVM’s Managing Director and co-founder of the Affno Group.
“Also, for suppliers, it also dramatically simplifies the process, encouraging them to place greater value on the opportunity to serve the buyer companies’ needs. This ensures buyer companies get the best product at the best price”.
Some of the buyer companies that work with Green Tape are Sunshine Holdings, Access Engineering and McLarens.
The initial registration to the platform is free while for a nominal fee of Rs. 858 per month a supplier must pay to get access to at least ten buyer companies.
Green Tape aims to streamline the current process with a more simplistic and transparent system.
