Sri Lanka’s John Keells launches luxury houses at Troon-run golf resort
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s John Keells Properties said it will build luxury holiday villas at Victoria Golf and Country Resort, which will be run by US-based Troon International to be used as a managed property and a vacation home.
Victoria Golf and Country Resort (VGCR), which is in Digana off Kandy town, will manage the properties for the homeowners.
“..[W]e have developed a truly hassle-free vacation home ownership option at VGCR, where you can be part of a very special community without any of the headaches of managing a second home,” Nayana Mawilmada, Sector Head, John Keells Properties said.
JKP is marketing 16 two-bedroomed townhouses and a number of villa plots for owners to design their homes. The firm says they will be the only land plots in the country in the middle of a golf course.
Designed by architect Madhura Prematilleke, the Sunrise Ridge branded townhouses are offered as a turnkey project with all maintenance and operating costs borne by VGCR.
Owners will get a complimentary five-year membership at the golf Club, a 90-day stay and a percentage of room revenue.
Victoria Golf and Country Resort is set to be managed by Scottsdale, Arizona based Troon International from early 2021, which manages over 510 golf clubs and properties around the world.
Mark Chapleski, President – Troon International said his firm will work with VGCR to further raise the standard of golf management in Sri Lanka.
Victoria Golf and Country Resort has an 18-hole course spread across 120 acres. (Colombo/Oct11/2020)
