Sri Lanka’s Litro Gas to reduce prices; fuel price revision also expected

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s state-run Litro Gas Ltd has announced it will reduce the price of cooking gas on August 05 according to a price formula, with a fuel price revision also expected on Monday August 01.

“The 12.5kg cylinder will be reduced by 50 rupees and the rest according to their weight,” a spokesperson for Litro Gas told Economy Next.

Currently, a 12.5kg canister is sold at 4,910 rupees, 5kg at 1,971 rupees and 2.3 kg at 914 rupees.

Sri Lanka is also expected to announce a fuel price revision on Monday, August 01.

People have been faced with much hardship since the price of commodities shot up while an unprecedented shortage in fuel and cooking gas prevailed as the island ran out of dollars to import. (Colombo/Aug01/2022)
