ECONOMYNEXT- SriLankan Airlines, the top foreign carrier to India, said it has started flying to Visakhapatnam in Andra Pradesh from July 07, taking total weekly flights to 126, with two more cities to be added later in the month.
SriLanka is already flying to Chennai, Trichy, Trivandrum, Mumbai, New Delhi, Gaya, Madurai, Varanasi, Kochi, Bangalore and Kolkata.
SriLankan will add Hyderabad on July 12 and Coimbatore on July 16.
The airline will use its newly acquired Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft on to Visakhapatnam.
"This new destination addition to our network indeed reflects SriLankan Airlines commitment in serving Asian region…" SriLankan Airlines’ Chief Commercial Officer Siva Ramachandran said in a statement.
Travellers from Visakhapatnam will be able to visit SriLanka one of the world’s fastest growing tourism destinations, the airline said. Industries in Visakhapatnam will also benefit from faster cargo connections.
