SriLankan Airlines stops flights to Cochin due to floods

ECONOMYNEXT – SrLankan Airlines said it has suspended flights to Cochin, India till Sunday August 11, 2019 after the airport was closed due to floods and offered alterative connections to passengers through Trivandrum and Coimbatore.

A statement from the national carrier said Cochin Airport Authority Limited had announced that all aircraft operations were suspended at Kochi airport till 3 pm on Sunday.

“The airline offers alterative connections to passengers travelling to and from Kochi via Trivandrum and Coimbatore.”

Due to prevailing adverse weather conditions, a red alert has been issued to four western states of India, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashta and Gujarat.
