SriLankan Airlines to save Rs75mn by shifting corporate office

ECONOMYNEXT – State-run SriLankan Airlines said it plans to save 75 million rupees a year by shifting its corporate offices from central Colombo to the airport away from the capital.

But Sri Lanka’s ticket, cargo sales and loyalty program service centres will remain at Colombo’ World Trade Centre, Iceland Building and and De Vos Avenue Colombo 04, the airline said.

"This initiative would result in a cost saving of approximately Rupees 75 million per annum and will make our back office operations much more efficient," the airlines asid.

"The shifting of the offices commenced on 28th June and will continue on a staggered basis with completion planned by mid-August. "
