Thailand firms win cylinder deals from Sri Lanka state LPG distributor
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s state-run Litro Gas Lanka has awarded two contracts to Thailand based firms to supply liquefied petroleum gas cylinders, the state information office said.
Metal Mate Company Ltd had won a 2.18 million US dollar deal to supply 22,000 2.3kilogram cylinders, 105,056 12.5 kg cylinders and 1,260 37.5 kg cylinders.
Sahamitr Pressure Containers Public Co. Ltd has won a 1.58 million dollar deal to supply 117,040 5kg cylinders.
The cabinet of ministers had approved both contract awards on a proposal submitted by Finance Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Litro Gas is Sri Lanka’s largest gas distributors which was at one time owned by Shell Gas but was purchased by the state, in a process of reversing privatizations. (Colombo/Sept13/2020)
