Trafigura wins Sri Lanka coal power plant supply deal

ECONOMYNEXT – Multinational commodity trading company Trafigura Pte. Ltd. has won a contract to supply 360,000 metric tonnes of coal for Sri Lanka’s Lakvijaya coal power plant in Puttalam, on the northwest coast.
The deal was approved this week by the Cabinet of Ministers on a proposal by Ravi Karunanayaka, Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development, the state information office said.
Trafigura will supply coal at 91.40 US dollars a metric tonne.
