ECONOMYNEXT – A company called Sea Horse Yachts will set up a 58 million US dollar plant in Sri Lanka’s Hambantota Port, Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa who represents the district in parliament said.
Sea Horse had signed an agreement with China-backed Hambantota International Port Group (HIPG) which runs the port and an adjacent industrial zone.
“This venture will open up over 500 jobs on the local market along with an investment of 58M USD!,” Rajapaksa said in a twitter.com message.
HIPG has fast tracked investments in the zone and has also tied up with an industrial park operator for plug and play factories. (Colombo/Aug08/2021)
