Sri Lanka Coronavirus cases top 20,000, Covid-19 deaths rise by 4
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has confirmed 400 Coronavirus cases with 391 domestic cases taking the total Covid-19 cases so far to 20,171 with four new deaths taking the total to 87 official data showed.
Sri Lanka has lifted Coronavirus isolation from Colombo Fort, Borella, Slave Island, Wellampitiya, Ja-Ela and Kadawatha from 0500 hours Monday.
Schools outside the Western province has also opened. Media reports said attendance was around 50 percent in some areas on the first day.
A 70-year old female from Colombo 15 had died on admission to the National Hospital in Colombo on November 21. She had died from Covid-19 pneumonia, the state information office quoted Director General of Health Services as saying.
A 53-year old male from Colombo 12 had died on admission to the National Hospital in Colombo, on November 20. Covid-19 had worsened a chronic lung condition.
An 84-year old female from Borella had died at home on November 21. She had pneumonia related to Covid-19.
A 75-year old male from Colombo 10, had died at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Colombo. He had passed away while being treated at the intensive care unit on November 22, due to Covid-19 linked pneumonia.
Sri Lanka’s confirmed total Coronavirus deaths went to 87.
